The Asymmetric Thermal Emission of Protoplanetary Disk Surrounding HD 142527 Seen by Subaru/COMICS
نویسندگان
چکیده
Mid-infrared (MIR) images of the Herbig Ae star HD 142527 were obtained at 18.8 and 24.5 μm with the Subaru/COMICS. Bright extended arc-like emission (outer disk) is recognized at r = 0. 85 together with a strong central source (inner disk) and a gap around r = 0. 6 in the both images. Thermal emission of the eastern side is much brighter than that of the western side in the MIR. We estimate the dust size as a few μm from the observed color of the extended emission and the distance from the star. The dust temperature T and the optical depth τ of the MIR emitting dust are also derived from the two images as T = 82±1 K, τ = 0.052±0.001 for the eastern side and T = 85±3 K, τ = 0.018±0.001 for the western side. The observed asymmetry in the brightness can be attributed to the difference in the optical depth of the MIR emitting dust. To account for the present observations, we propose an inclined disk model, in which the outer Based on data collected at Subaru Telescope, which is operated by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. Co Gas inside the Protoplanetary Disk Cavity in Hd 142527: Disk Structure from Alma
Inner cavities and annular gaps in circumstellar disks are possible signposts of giant planet formation. The young star HD 142527 hosts a massive protoplanetary disk with a large cavity that extends up to 140 au from the central star, as seen in continuum images at infrared and millimeter wavelengths. Estimates of the survival of gas inside disk cavities are needed to discriminate between clear...
متن کاملNear - Infrared Imaging Polarimetry of HD 142527 ?
Context. HD 142527 is a pre-transition disk with strong evidence for on-going planet formation. Recent observations show a disrupted disk with spiral arms, a dust-depleted inner cavity and the possible presence of gas streams driving gas from the outer disk towards the central star. Aims. We aim to derive the morphology of the disk, as well as the distribution and properties of the dust at its ...
متن کاملLarge-scale Asymmetries in the Transitional Disks of Sao 206462 and Sr 21
We present Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) observations in the dust continuum (690 GHz, 0.45 mm) and CO J = 6 − 5 spectral line emission, of the transitional disks surrounding the stars SAO 206462 and SR 21. These ALMA observations resolve the dust-depleted disk cavities and extended gaseous disks, revealing large-scale asymmetries in the dust emission of both disks. We mode...
متن کاملDisks around the Young Stars Tw Hydrae and Hd 100546 Imaged at 3.4 Millimeters with the Australia Telescope Compact Array
We present observations of the young stars TW Hya and HD 100546 made with the Australia Telescope Compact Array at 89 GHz with 200 resolution and 3 mJy continuum sensitivity. Compact thermal dust continuum emission is detected from disks surrounding both stars. HD 100546 also shows hints of extended emission, presumably a residual protostellar envelope, which is also visible in scattered light ...
متن کاملTracing the Inner Edge of the Disk around Hd 100546 with Ro-vibrational Co Emission Lines
In this paper we present high resolution 4.7μm spectra of the isolated Herbig Be star HD 100546. HD 100546 has been the subject of intense scrutiny because it is a young nearby star with a transitional disk. We observe the ∆v=1 ro-vibrational CO transitions in order to clarify the distribution of warm gas in the inner disk. Modeling of the CO spectrum indicates that the gas is vibrationally exc...
